Captain Jeff Harris is a native of Fayetteville and a graduate of Fayette County High School in June 1987.
He began his law enforcement career in September 1987 as a Dispatcher / Jailer with the City of Fayetteville Police Department. In January 1990, he attended the Public Safety Training Institute (P.S.T.I.) in Clayton County obtaining his state mandated law enforcement certification. He has risen through the ranks, now serving as Captain over the Office of Professional Standards. Captain Harris has received a number of Community Service Awards and Command Awards. He has also completed the required training leading to the POST Intermediate, Advanced, Supervisory and Management Certifications. In addition, he completed the Professional Management Program through Columbus State University. Captain Harris is an active member of the Georgia Chief’s Association.
