Early Life

Captain Chad Myers grew up in Fayette County

Education

Myers graduated from Fayette County High School before obtaining his degree in Criminal Justice. He was hired by the City of Fayetteville in April of 2005 graduating from Clayton Regional Law Enforcement Academy graduating with the “Top Gun” academy award.

Career

Myers began his career in the patrol division and was selected to be a patrol K-9 handler in December of 2007. Myers and his Partner “Remco” worked together until Remco’s retirement when he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Patrol Division. In April 2013, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in the patrol division as a patrol shift commander.

In March 2017, Lieutenant Myers was transferred to supervise the criminal investigations division. During this role, he became a member of the Georgia Internet crimes against children task force targeting offenders using social media and phone applications to prey on children.

In October of 2017, he was promoted to Captain of the Office of Professional Standards where he oversees Accreditation, Training, City Court, Community Resources and Internal Affairs. 

Certifications

Capt. Myers has obtained P.O.S.T certifications in supervision, management, general instructor, firearms instructor, and shotgun instructor.  Myers has completed the professional management program through Columbus State University and is a graduate of the 140th Administrative Officers Course with the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville.
