Career
Chief Harris is a native of Fayette County. He joined the Fayetteville Fire Department as a Volunteer firefighter in 1988 and started his career in 1990. He held numerous positions within the department until becoming Division Chief over Fire Prevention and Life Safety, Training, and Support Services in 2017. Chief Harris has taken numerous classes at the Georgia Fire Academy and National Fire Academy.
Other Training & Affiliations
Harris also has training in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. He is a State of Georgia Emergency Medical Technician, NPQ Instructor Level 3, and a Georgia Smoke Diver. He is working toward finishing a degree in Fire Science and has completed the UGA Management Development Program.
