Country music star Josh Turner will cross the Brightmoor Healthcare Amphitheater stage for the first time Friday night, August 5, but the multi-platinum-seller is no stranger to the Atlanta area.
Turner says he usually plays a few Georgia concerts each year, including Bremen, Cumming, and Hiawassee already in 2022. His wife Jennifer Ford is from Stone Mountain, and she has family that still lives in Georgia. On top of all that, Turner professes to be “a huge Atlanta Braves fan,” so his upcoming visit could be considered a second-home coming of sorts.
“My family and I were at Game 5 of the World Series last year,” Turner told the City of Fayetteville’s Communications Team. “That was one of the most intense sporting events I’ve ever been to.”
Since 2001, Turner has become a country radio legend on his own merits, with top hits like “Long Black Train” and the Grammy-nominated album “Your Man,” but his latest album project “Country State of Mind” pays tributes to the country music legends that shaped his career. The album features Turner’s take on classic hits from Randy Travis, John Anderson, Johnny Cash, Vern Gosdin, and Hank Williams.
What will Turner’s fans experience at the Brightmoor Healthcare Amphitheater?
“Fans can expect to hear all the hits they’ve come to know and love,” Turner said. “Plus, we always have a couple surprises up our sleeves. It’ll be a fun night of country music for all ages.”
