Fourteen City of Fayetteville employees recently graduated the City’s eight-month Emerging Leaders training program, and they were commended by City Council members at their July 6 meeting.
“The program went really well,” said City Manager Ray Gibson. “We learned a lot from it.”
Gibson explained that he and Assistant City Manager Alan Jones facilitated the monthly sessions, and he said the second cohort is expected to begin in October.
“If you don’t cultivate leadership, leadership falls by the wayside,” said Mayor Ed Johnson. “I’m so proud that our City Manager, department heads, and those that participated in the program know how vital it is to continue to develop leadership.
“That’s what makes our staff above and beyond any other staff that I have had the opportunity to work with,” added Mayor Johnson.
The 2023 Emerging Leaders graduates are Jessica Smith, Tina Rich, Justin Evans, Jason Champion, Karen Austin, Whitney Houston, Matt Noel, Elvis Berisha, Joshua Meade, Tyrone Beard, Danny Harrison, Cornelius Webster, Carlos Calderon, and Nicole Gilbert.
