Employment Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must hold a valid Driver's License with satisfactory MVR
  • Must possess good moral character with no felony convictions
  • Must successfully complete the Employment Process Hiring Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • NPQ Firefighter I or II certifications
  • Intermediate EMT I, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic 

Candidate is ineligible if:

  • Georgia State Firefighter Certification or NPQ I or NPQ II Certification has been suspended or revoked or is currently under investigation
  • Has been convicted of a felony within the past ten (10) years

Hiring Process

  • Panel Interview
  • Finger Print and Background Check
  • Psychological Evaluation
  • Physical Agility Test
  • Medical Examination, Drug Test, and CVSA
  • Final Interview
