Security & Safety
Neighborhood Watch is one of the oldest and most effective crime prevention programs in the country, bringing citizens together with law enforcement to deter crime and make communities safer. Today’s Watch Group programs incorporate activities that not only address crime prevention issues, but also restore pride and unity to a neighborhood. It is not uncommon to see members of Neighborhood Watch groups participating in community cleanups and other activities that strive to improve the quality of life for community residents.
Start Your Own Neighborhood Watch Group
The C.A.R.E. Unit has been tasked with revitalizing the various Neighborhood Watch groups inside the city. If you are interested in finding out more or starting a group in your community, please contact Captain Myers here.
In order to assist our residents to protect their homes and property, officers of the Fayetteville Police Department are available to perform a Home Security Evaluation. Officers will assess areas including lighting, doors, windows, landscaping, and alarm systems. Feedback will be provided to the homeowner with any suggested improvements.

Going out of town? Increase the security of your home while you are away by contacting the Police Department via the House Watch Request Form. This alerts patrol officers of your absence and reminds them to make specific stops by your home to be sure your home is how it should be.
Fields include certain vehicles that are approved to be in your driveway or even individuals that are approved to be on the property (house sitter, pet sitter, etc.). Though we can not provide full-time security, it is a good idea to have another set of eyes on your property while you are away.
Submit a house watch request by completing the House Watch Request Form.
